About Me
My name is Ann Chambers – though most people know me simply as Crazy Auntie Ann.
I’m a 63-year-old grandma from Yorkshire, and for many years I taught college
students health and social care, with a passion for mental health and wellbeing. I like
many have walked more than a few winding paths in life… but this latest chapter? It’s been the wildest yet.

So, how did I end up on social media?

It all began during lockdown. With my students stuck at home, I turned to TikTok as a way to bring a bit of light into their lives – to make them laugh, lift their spirits, and keep us all feeling connected. I’ve always believed that with a little courage and a lot of heart, anyone can achieve something extraordinary. So one day I decided to show them.
I left it down to my students, who threw down the gauntlet, and they said: "Go on, Ann – get 10,000 followers on TikTok!”. Despite having no idea and zero plan I said, “Alright then – let’s give it a shot!”. After all, what is life without a challenge.

What I didn’t expect was that, a 63-year-old grandma and recovering alcoholic who’s hit rock bottom more than once – would end up with a community of over 2.2 million people.

My journey so far has been messy, joyful, painful, and powerful – and every moment has shaped who I am. It has been difficult but I wouldn't change it for the world and I would love to bring you all for the ride. So thank you for being part of the Crazy Auntie Ann Family!
