A Mention in Billboard

What an honour to be mentioned in the most prestigious music platform in the world. If you've read my previous article about Marshall Jefferson's visit, then you will know that it was as a result of me posting a song promo for Helix Records. The song is called ‘Life is Simple’ by Maesic and Jefferson and is one of my favorite songs this year. The video went viral on Instagram and TikTok, with something like 20 Million views. As a result of this the song made the beatport top ten, and BillBoard wrote an article about the song and Maesic. Honestly, I find the best part of this being, that even in a small way, I helped an artist to fulfill a dream and it changed his life.

‘A clip of dance legend Fatboy Slim playing the song then went viral this past spring, and then Helix commissioned a post from TikTok-er Crazy Auntie Ann, who’d already posted a video dancing to “Move Your Body” and was a longtime fan of Jefferson’s original. Maesic and Jefferson also created content together ahead of the release date, with all of these moments ultimately sending the song to No. 1 on Beatport’s Afro-house chart and putting it at No. 4 on the Beatport Top 10.’
